The cairn lies on fairly level ground immediately west of the Stall Down single stone row near its north end. The cairn is 8 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres high, partly turf-covered, with six visible kerb stones. Beyond the margin of the cairn, set stones suggest at least three additional concentric circles, forming a complex structure with a total diameter of about 18 metres. The long axes of these stones are predominantly tangential to the circle, with a maximum height of 0.4 metres.
Turner, J. R., 1990, Ring Cairns, Stone Circles and Related Monuments on Dartmoor, 54,79, Figures 21-22 (Article in Serial). SDV229817.

Cairn '3' at SX63206248 to the west of Stalldown stone row is placed within an outer ring of slabs 14.5 metres across. All but one of the slabs are small and barely showing above the turf. An inner ring of 8 metres diameter closely surrounds the base. It had been dug into at the centre.

An embellished round cairn on Stall Down 25 metres west of the stone row, near its northern terminal. The cairn has a retaining circle, or stone kerb, surrounding the central mound as well as an outer circle of stones. The central mound is stony and turf covered and appears undisturbed. It has a maximum spread diameter of 8.4 metres and is 0.6 metres high. Surrounding the base of the mound are the vestiges of a circle of small, earthfast stones, at least six of which survive in situ. A second, approximately concentric circle, with at least 13 stones surviving has a diameter of 14 metres. Some of these are larger slabs which have fallen outwards.
Ordnance Survey, 2019, MasterMap 2019 (Cartographic). SDV362729.
Cairn shown on modern mapping.
