Full description

Dated 21/03/1972. National Westminster Bank, Number 94 High Street.1877, good ashlar front (deeds from 1794), rusticated flank pilasters, bracket main entablature, 3 storey, 4 sash windows with centre glazing bars, at upper floors, and with architraves.3 windows and entrance left at ground floor (bank from 1877).

The west end of High Street is the commercial heart of the town with some residential accommodation over shops and behind the main frontage. The shops are punctuated by former coaching inns and 19th century banks. Number 94 has a 'dignified banker's front of 1877 with rusticated pilasters.' The statutory list regards numbers 92 to 116 (even), High Street as forming a particularly cohesive group. Maps.
