Turton, S. D. + Weddell, P. J., 1989, An Archaeological Assessment of the South Devon Spine Main (Roborough to Littlehempston), 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV138026.

Ugborough/Ermington parish boundary.

Reed, S. J., 1991, Archaeological Recording on the SWW South Devon Spine Main (Roborough to Littlehempston), 4 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV163500.

South of Eastern Lodge the parish boundary follows a course to the west of the present line of the River Erme. This suggests an earlier course of the river. No earlier channel was observed during fieldwork but alluvial deposits were observed during trenching in the valley bottom. Detailed recording was not possible.
