Full description
Doe, G. M., 1936 - 1937, Ancient (?) Cross at Great Torrington, 146-148 (Article in Serial). SDV19196.
The original base of the cross may have served as a coping stone for a well where the pump house now stands.

A modern pump house at Windy Cross may cover the site of an ancient well. The pump house is surmounted by a round base which holds a modern cross.
