Summary

Hill to the east of Broadway Farm known locally as Donkey Hill. The field at the top of the hill is named as Ball Hill on the 19th century Littleham Tithe Apportionment, the field adjoining to the north-east is called Stagbury.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Field 895 across the top of the hill is named as Ball Hill on the Littleham Tithe Apportionment. Adjacent fields are called Stagbury (892), vine Close (893), Moore (896) and Plumb Park (862).

No earthworks or features were observed during the construction of a Southwest Water pipeline in this area.

Aerial photographs and digital images studied as part of this survey did not show any earthwork or cropmark evidence for this potential site at this location. Earthwork features associated with a Second World War light Anti-Aircraft were recorded at the summit of the hill at SY022812 and should not be confused with any potential barrow site.
