Seal of the Priory of St. Mary bears on one side the image of the Virgin Mary and on the other a figure of a man wearing a crown. He carries a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left. The figure is intended to represent King Athelstan. It is inscribed 'HOC . ATHELSTANUS . AGO . QUOD . PRESENS . SIGNAT . AMAGO .'

Miles H. + Miles, T., 1972, Pilton Excavation 1972 (Un-published). SDV350370.

The seal of the Priory, which is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, included a rebus for Richard Kengeswood, prior from 1413 - 1421. The association of the priory with King Athelstan is unsubstantiated.
