Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1951, SX58NW9 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV234548.
(02/03/1951) The remains of a cairn, SX 54608942, which has been disturbed in the past - now heather covered. Diameter 10.5m, height 0.5m. One or two stones of the retaining circle are still visible but there is no trace of a cist to be seen.
(No doubt, this is one of the cairns known to Worth (personal comment? Worth, R. H., 07/12/1948) but recorder found no others in the locality).

[This cairn is described by Grinsell and is mapped by the Ordnance Survey, but is not the one described in the English Heritage records office Scheduled Ancient Monument report for site No. 10625 (see Robinson)].

Corn Ridge NW cairn '1' at SX54598943 of 11.0 metres diameter by 0.3 metres high. A considerable portion of this cairn has been carted away.

Despite evidence for partial robbing, the round cairn 470 metres south east of Sourton Tors survives comparatively well and contains archaeological and environmental information relating to the monument and the landscape in which it was erected. This cairn is one of a dispersed group of cairns situated along the western slopes of Corn Ridge.
