Summary

Large circular barrow at the north end of the village, at the junction of the Coryton and Bridestowe roads. The sitename and position of this feature indicates it may have been the site of the village gallows.

A large circular tumulus at the north end of the village, at the junction of the Coryton and Bridestowe roads; probably the site of ancient gallows. (1923?)
A fine prominent circular flat-topped mound in a pasture field situated in the fork between two old lanes. Height 1.2 metres and diameter 35 metres. Site traditionally the position of the village gallows but has every appearance of a round barrow. (1981)
