Huntingdon Mine is a remnant of workings which extended into the northern end of the parish from Buckfastleigh Moor. The mine was being worked early in the 19th century when it was known as Dean Wheal Tor, but was probably abandoned by 1815. It reopened in about 1864, small quantities of tin being obtained. The overgrown remains of two wheel houses (pits), parts of the courses of the leats which supplied them from the west wella brook, and sites of buildings can be traced. No adits or shafts are visible, but a line of funnel shaped pits may have been sunk for the purpose of exploring the lode, and possibly served to ventilate the mine.
