‘Old Sand Pit’ marked on Ordnance Survey 1890 1:10560 map. During field survey main pit seen aligned northwest/ southeast, circa 20 metres by 10 metres–15 metres by circa 4 metres deep. Orange sand evident from animal burrowing. Much loose chert in and around pit, and there is a chert dump, circa15 metres diameter, to northwest.
