Full description

St. Paul's Church. Curtilage-wall is of stone rubble, using the same purple-red stone as the church; steeply chamfered coping of a whiteish local stone. Gate piers on north, east and south sides are also of this stone; square with panelled fronts and backs, and very low pyramidal caps, the curtilage-wall ramped up against them on either side. Wrought-iron gates in Gothic style fitted in 1870. Set into the ground behind are carefully-designed iron catches for holding them open; the west catch of the north gate is missing.
