14th century screen.


Bligh Bond, F., 1903, Devonshire Screens and Rood Lofts. Part II, 493 (Article in Serial). SDV6113.

St. Nectan's church, chancel screen. Earliest remaining in the country. Square-headed, lights divided by small shafts of rude workmanship, cornice work remains, screen encloses altar rails, lower panels removed, fine old bench ends have been inserted, poppy head finials having been sawn off. Over transept arches are carved oak panels representing the vine and fig tree.
