One of a group of five depicted on the historic mapping, from the late 19th century onwards, defining the boundary of one of early sources of the Dartmoor prison's water suppy. This stone is marked on the western side of the marshy area, but unlike the others is not shown on thw modern maps and may be missing.

Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
'Stone' is marked on the late 19th century historic map. Also shown on later (1906) and (1954) versions of the historic mapping. This stone lies on the western side of the marshy area.
