Summary

A Second World War pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Exeter Airport. It remains visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs of 1999, although by 2006-07, the pillbox has been demolished as part of expansion of the airport.

Defence Post "B". A thin-walled brick and concrete pillbox of unknown type. Not shown on the defence post map, but faces shouth and therefore built for outer defence.
A loophole on the rear elevation is now missing, and the entrance has been considerably widened. In poor condition.

The pillbox measures approximately 5m by 5m and is located within a now removed north to south aligned field boundary, no doubt to conceal the structure. It remains visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs of 1999, although by 2006-07, the pillbox has been demolished as part of expansion of the airport.
