A circular transcription corresponds to the grid reference for PRN166905, a ring ditch, 12m in diameter, visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1989. The photo reference is DAP LW/02 (NMR SX9088/13).

A dark ring-shaped cropmark, up to 50 metres across, is visible on specialist oblique aerial photographs taken between 1988 and 1990, and on a vertical aerial photograph taken in 1992. It is interpreted as having formed over the infilled remains of a ring ditch around a former prehistoric burial mound of probable Bronze Age date. This feature had been transcribed during the North Devon/Winkleigh Biomass NMP project, its location corresponding to the grid references for record PRN166903, and so has not been re-transcribed for the EMDRC project.
Many of the aerial photographs consulted are copies of DAPs held by the Historic England Archive. These have been recorded here as additional separate sources because there is a possibility that the prints may have been processed differently. This would potentially result in images on which archaeological features show slightly differently.
