'old shaft' marked on os 6" (1907) map, possibly associated with south lady bertha mine to the e (sx46ne/506/3) (os).

Denham Bridge (copper). A small prospect worked briefly from about 1857 in an attempt to exploit the alleged western end of the South Lady Berthacopper lode, by driving adits into the hillside at river level. From December 1858 the mine was operated by the Denham Bridge Mining Company. The sett, which was modest in scale, was depicted on a map of 1859 on which it was shown bounded on the east by the River Tavy extending west in an approximate rectangle within Skithead Wood. The mine ceased to operate in about 1863. Other details: Site No. 10.
