The Pillbox to the south of Whitford road bridge is actually a hexagonal Type 22 with a bullet proof porch added. This has one LMG loophole. The date 1940 is visible in the concrete of the porch. The porch was added to the original stop line pillbox to protect the doorway from fire from the rear when Whitford became an anti-tank island with all-round defences.
