Pearse Chope, R., 1926, Address of the President. Hartland Abbey, 73 (Article in Serial). SDV6740.

Welcombe Barton. A new chapel was built in 1508.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977, SS21NW16 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV6620.

Site visit 17th October 1977. The house is probably 18th century. Its only peculiar features being small upper storey to the porch and a length of blank wall leading away from the south-east corner. There are no identifiable remains of a chapel.
