Full description

Cottage and garden shown on 19th century Tithe Map. Site probably destroyed by road widening.
Dyer, M. J., 1994, Archaeological Observations of Deep Moor Landfill Site, Great Torrington, 2 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV339202.
Concentration of pot collected during fieldwalking to north suggests that the site was possibly occupied from medieval period to 19th century. A feature at SS50791998, comprising an 8 meter long irregular area of soft dark soil containing flecks of burnt orange clay may have been connected with occupation.
