Potters farm. Origin of name is thought to relate to robert potter dating to 1452 (see gover). In 1876 the farm was known as the 'country house inn'. It was then described as having a beer house, yard, outbuildings, garden and closes of meadow. There is no evidence for pottery production in this area at least in the post-medieval period (weddell).
