Full description

Department of Environment, 1989, Little Torrington (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV12088.

Former granary immediately to north of Torridge House.
Now used as store. Circa mid C19. Plastered brick and stud walls. Pyramidal slate roof. Square plan. The granary stands on 4 stone rubble piers with a doorway on its south wall facing the house.
Interior: Remains of original framed partitions.

Visited in 1992. Known as "The Granary". A square building in the cobbled yard of former rectory. Approx 8' square, was rendered, had a slate roof and stood on 4 stone pillars. Demolished in 1992. Internally the walls were cob, filled in with brick, block-work and rough modern wooden struts.
