BIRD + HIRST, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV221965.

Brimpts north mine. Excavation. Site of horse whim. Between the possible sawpit (subsheet 5) and the engine shaft is an excavation which now forms a large shallow pond. This is believed to post-date the mining operations and has erased all trace of a horse whim sited immediately to w of the engine shaft and which is shown in side view on the 1853 mine plan (bird + hirst).
