Full description
Francis, P., 1995, Blackdown Hills Airfield Survey. Dunkeswell and Upottery, No. 54, Fig. 23 (Report - Survey). SDV312951.
Building 140. Main workshops. Construction: rendered 4.5 inch brick with piers at ten feet centres supporting 28 feet span steel trusses carrying corrugated asbestos sheeting. Building roughly H-shaped in plan. Function: one wing contained airframe repair and carpenter's shop, while the other functioned as engine repair and acetylene welders, and blacksmith's shop. The centre section contained fabric workers and machine shop. Building in excellent condition. Now used as a garage workshop.
