A linear quarry or openwork is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork south-west of Lee Ball, Challacombe. Part of the feature is depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map and annotated "old quarry" suggesting it was abandoned prior to publication in 1889. There is no indication as to what material was extracted here, but the east-west alignment suggests that a mineral seam may have been exploited here. Other details: Monument Number 1488805.
