HER Number:MDV58100
Name:Enclosure 190m west of Black Tor, Walkhampton

Summary

Enclosure with large length of north-western wall missing. One of four enclosures identified by Gerrard (1996) around Black Tor. Possibly either robbed, never completed, or originally been of timber construction. No traces of associated settlement. Possibly contemporary with Stanlake settlement. The similarity between this enclosure and those recorded as SX57SE/388-390 suggests that they may be contemporaneous, possibly used to separate livestock.
