Site of a 'Marlpit' recorded as such within plot 733 on the Seaton and Beer parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48.

Old Quarry marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map to the north-west of Ryall's Court.

Site of former quarry north of Perrymarsh. The area is currently planted as an orchard but the outline of the quarry is still visible on the ground.


Bayer, O. J. + Reed, S. J., 1997, Archaeological Watching Brief at Ryalls Court (Report - Watching Brief). SDV348584.

Watching brief maintained during topsoil stripping pior to development in November 1997. The quarry appeared to have been for the extraction of clay/marl which overlay gravel which was exposed at the sides and base of the quarry. No archaeological features were observed.
