Full description
Rhodes, M., Correspondence (Correspondence). SDV350879.
A coin hoard of circa 525 silver coins, in a jar, was discovered in the 1930's by builders working on the site of 23-25 High Street, Totnes. Probably Cromwellian in date - latest surviving coin is 1654. The three builders did not declare the coins but divided it up. 175 coins were presented to Totnes Museum by the widow of one of the finders in 1999.

These coins correspond exactly to what one expects in a hoard deposited in Devon in 1644-5.
