Summary
Yardworthy, chagford. Vis=estimated -/-/1948 (worth) two examples of holed stones being used as door hangers. In the stone which forms the roof of the porch is a hole (diam 70mm, dept 70mm), which formed the upper hanging of the entrance door; the sill has been lost, and with it the bearing for the lower hanging. There is a window opening, never glazed but closed with shutter, the upper hinge of which was formed by a hole in the lintel (diam 51mm, dept 51mm). The lower hinge is formed by a slight hole in the sill. An iron spill must have been used at this bearing, the dimensions being so small. The building is probably 14th century work.
