In existence as a fulling mill in 1610. Wood's 1840 map refers to it as 'Gaths Mill', the 1850 directory identifying Samuel Gath as a West Exe corn miller. In the 1930s it served as a laundry. In postwar period it served as an engineering works until at lest 1972. Completely redeveloped for housing.
