Ashburton - East Street (north side) No.85 - GV II
Mid 19th century house; possibly a refacing of an earlier structure. Rendered walls, the front lined to imitate masonry. Slated roof. Red-brick chimney on each gable end and on rear wing. Probably double-fronted and double-depth, with rear wing to left.
Three storeys, three windows wide. Centre doorway with panelled pilasters and cornice on consoles; panelled reveals; 6-panelled door, the two bottom panels flush, the two top panels now glazed. Canted bay with dentilled cornice at either side. Upper storey windows have flanking panelled pilasters and shaped aprons. Cornice above each storey; panelled pilasters at each end. Two-paned sashes throughout.
