SX 514 830 Wheal Eliza. Old shaft situated on the edge of plantation marks site of Wheal Eliza. The sett contained two lodes of copper and one of lead and comprised the tenements of Hall and Henscott. Investigations in 1845 sank a 20 fathom deep adit and in 1846 a waterwheel was purchased. Searches for further lodes may have been unsuccessful as no subsequent reports have been found; work seems to have ceased by the end of the year. In February 1856 it was rumoured that Henscott Consols and Wheal Fanny were to be restarted but apparently this did not happen; in October the mine was stated to be idle.

Ordnance Survey, 2024, Mastermap 2024 (Cartographic). SDV365834.

'Shaft' depicted on the modern maps. Extent of the mining works unknown.
