A series of earthwork banks of potential medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the northeast of Greenway Bridge. The linear earthworks are broadly north to south and east to west aligned and are partly depicted as boundaries on the Halberton parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48 and which are based on a pattern of medieval enclosures based on strip fields. A number of the boundaries also appear, however, to have passed out of use by this time. The two northern parallel and east to west aligned earthworks interestingly define the north and south edges of a distinctive coombe. The 'natural' feature referred to elsewhere in this monument record may in part refer to this coombe. The earthwork banks are extant on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010.
