Dowrich, house. Contains large portions of early Tudor character. Remains of mansion.

A fine embattled 16th century gatehouse. The house itself is victorian, except for the tudor doorway.

Dowrich House including adjoining cob garden wall to rubble garden wall to NE. Probably mid c16, some c17 work, extensively refurbished and partly rebuilt in early c19, refronted circa 1870-80 and front altered again in early c20. Originally a 3 room and through cross passage house facing SE with parlour cross-wing projecting forward at left end. Interior shows mainly c19 fittings including an elaborate wooden chimney piece in hall carved in jacobean style with freestanding corinthian colums enriched with decoration.
