Ford House is an early 19th century building with a trellis verandah in its own grounds.

'Old Zoo House' is a late 18th- early 19th century house built at the foot of a quarried hillside. It is shown in the middle of a circa 1845 painting in the 'Burton Art Gallery' depicting a view of Bideford from 'Upcott Hill'. It had a small zoo until the 1960s. The building is now semi-derelict but there are possible plans to develop the grounds into a holiday resort. Correspondence and photographs (dated 08/08/2001).
