(Site visited 15/5/1979). Together with PRN 6455, 6456 and 26345 this hut circle forms a group of four dwellings with a field system which is heavily lyncheted within the modern farm enclosure. It is Iron Age but could have been started in the Bronze Age. Other details: Volume 4.

One of at least ten hut circles in the Sherwell prehistoric settlement, which consists of a number of fields within the reave system, many with a single hut circle built at the edge or corner.
Hut circle 8 is visible as a heather-covered bank and measures 6.5 meters in diameter and is visible from the road near the corner of the enclosure. Other details: Map 15, 1.
