Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 1999, Archaeological Assessment of SWW Rothernbridge to Brynsworthy Water Main: Stage 1 (Rothernbridge to Gammaton Moor), 4-5 (Report - Assessment). SDV449.

The Torrington or Rolle Canal must have crossed 'Common Lake' stream on an aqueduct at this point although the stream was culverted at the time of the construction of the railway station. Another aqueduct at SS47921982 carried the canal over the woollen manufactory leat.
