The Dodbrooke Tithe Map apportionment lists this field as Rack Park, suggesting it had at one time been used for drying and stretching cloth presumably, wool from a nearby fulling mill. A woollen manufactory is recorded in Kingsbridge in 1839, but the field name probably relates to an earlier industry. Other details: Figure 2, no 95.
