Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2001, Archaeological Assessment of a Proposed Residential Development at New Road, Bideford, 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV13528.
Presumed location of a ford crossing the stream descending the valley from a point to the southwest of Handy Cross at Grid Reference SS443-259-. There was probably no crossing of the River Torridge at this point.
