Full description
Worth, R. H., 1902, 21st Report of the Barrow Committee, 115-138 (Article in Serial). SDV20971.
King's Oven barrow surrounded by a circle with a cist. Charcoal and a flint scraper found. Cairn has been almost entirely removed leaving the cist in a broken and dilapidated condition exposed to view. The side stones still stand, one upright and one fallen inward.

King's Oven cairn at SX674812. The possible Cairn (2) is a mound of stones in the line of the north wall of the pound which was partly surrounded by an arc of upright slabs, two or three of which remain. It was excavated in 1895 when charcoal and a flint scraper were found next to the uprights.

Cairn at King's Oven was of an unusual type for Dartmoor which probably dates to 2000 -1800 BC.
