Settlement at 'wizaller' consisting of 'higher wizaller' + 'lower wizaller' on os 25" (1886) map + is first mentioned as 'wierdesalre' in 1296. It was known as 'wyardesallre' in 1305, 'werdesallere' in 1310, 'wyddesallar in 1538 + 'wisaller' in 1744 (gover et al).
