Full description

Child, P, 1977, Note (Personal Comment). SDV245428.

(1977) Possible barrow. Vegetation bank shown in dry weather. Approximately 25ft across, 1ft high.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Not visible on RAF 1947 aerial photograph.

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, M. J. Fletcher (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(02/07/1990) This cairn was not identified within the estimated area given by Child (1977). This part of Great Stannon Newtake is disturbed by peat digging activity and is under moorland pasture.
The evidence suggests that this site is most probably a duplicate of the larger of the two cairns at SX 64278330 (SX 68 SW 86) circa 330m to the SW.

Gerrard, S., 1993-2010, Monument Protection Programme Alternative Action Report (Report - non-specific). SDV145710.

(09/09/1997) Considered under MPP but no cairn visible at this location.
