Full description
National Trust, 1996, Compressed Site Reports, Lundy, 108076 (Un-published). SDV344008.
Site visit 3rd May 1990. This structure is actually built into the boundary wall of Widows Tenement at its north-east corner. At this point the boundary wall has been breached and its end opened out into a funnel shape; this small rectangular structure composed of tumbled walls is built into the southern limb of the boundary wall, at the breach. Its long axis runs down slope (north-east to south-west), and surviving wall dimensions are 1 metre height and 0.7 metres width; partly turf covered. There is no visible entrance, but the traces of the inner and outer wall facings on the north side. A freshwater spring rises close by (to north-east) within the space created by the breached boundary walls.

At the eastern corner is a spring which has been enclosed to form a well with a small building, possibly a well head, above it. At this point the wall uprights have been splayed to allow the passage of the water out over the cliff.
