A survey of the redundant building forming the southern boundary of the southern yard at 'Gerston' farm was undertaken in 2003. The small 18th century single storey building of coursed slatestone rubble under a slate roof was divided into an animal house or feed store to the west and five pigsties to the east. The south wall of the building forms a substantial retaining wall which appears to be earlier than the rest of the building. The roof construction is of late 18th or early 19th century.
