Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Owlhole shown on 19th century Tithe Map as a group of four buildings around an irregular shaped yard with orchards to the north and south. The Apportionment for Owlhole lists Field Number 102 as 'Farm, House and Garden'.

Owlhole is mentioned as 'Houleholle' in 1281, 'Oulehole' in 1420 and 'Owelhole' in 1461.

Owlhole shown on 19th century map as a group of buildings to the north and south of a narrow yard with orchards to the north and southeast. The southern building has a horse engine on the south side. A well is shown as 'W' to the north.
