The building to the rear of 74 Fore Street, shown as 'King's Market' on 20th century maps appears to be a 19th century pannier market building. It had recently been destroyed by fire.

To the rear of the shop, brick and stone foundations of an extension, which had recently been destroyed by a fire, were exposed. The remains of brick face work against the northern boundary wall and the grey lime mortar bonding suggested a probable 19th century date for this construction.
