Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 48, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 167 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
Large gully runs southeast downslope from path at given grid reference. Contains bracken rather than the gorse of the surrounding area. Circa 30 metres wide by circa 2 metres deep, seen for approximately 100 metres. Seems unlikely to be a natural valley, although density/height of vegetation precludes detailed investigation. Possible quarry. Nothing depicted on Ordnance Survey 1891 1:10560 map (Sheet 93NE) in this location.
