Summary

Wall shown on the post 1867 maps as a single line running south from sx43407187 to sx43427181 which appears to have been a retaining wall to contain the mine’s spoil heaps. The section parallel to the river is up to 3m high & has been built with four decorative inset arches visible from gunnislake across the tamar. An indent in the wall at the above ngr may indicate the site of the ‘deep adit’ portal cut along the ‘main lode’ or it could be the site of a steam crane for loading barges (buck).
