Summary

Site of an air shaft shown on the 1867 maps as ‘old shaft – fenced’ but not shown on the os (1884) map on the ‘chimney rock lode’. The survey in 2003 found remnants of a low bank 0.4m high x 0.9m wide surrounding on the west & north sides of the 6m diameter x 1.8m deep shaft (buck).
