Exeter Archaeology, 2003, Barnstaple Castle Car Park Scheme: Phase 1: Archaeological Assessment (Report - Assessment). SDV319631.
A medieval pit was exposed during a watching brief on Castle Green by exeter archaeology. The pit had been disturbed by the building of Castle Lodge but contained bone, charcoal and four sherds of 13th- to 15th century medieval pottery.
