Dyer, M. J. + Passmore, A. J., 2004, Archaeological Recording at 17 South Street, Totnes, 3-4 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV319390.

Archaeological recording undertaken during development at 17 South Street in 2004 exposed an east to west aligned wall of local stone bonded with red clay was exposed for 8.73 metres. This wall cut into the fill of the medieval town boundary ditch. A stone built wall bonded with yellow clay to the northeast represented the north wall of the building that formerly occupied the site. An exposed rectangular culvert was built of local stone with slate capping. Figure 2.
